WHY JOIN NJAHSA - ASSISTED LIVING

Enhancing quality of life care and support for New Jersey senior citizens has been NJAHSA's mission since 1931. In fact, NJAHSA is the only association in New Jersey that represents the entire continuum of non-profit and public long-term care and senior housing settings. Our more than 135 members serve an estimated 25,000 senior citizens from New Jersey annually. Assisted living facilities are of particular importance to NJAHSA because of their invaluable ability to promote independence, preserve dignity and self-respect, and provide the highest quality physical, spiritual and emotional support for those seniors in their care.


NJAHSA's recent efforts in the Assisted Living industry have included:

  • Analysis, monitoring, and advocacy pertaining to legislation and regulations such as amendments to the Assisted Living Licensure Standards, development of equitable regulations for the Patient Safety Act, continuation of the Best Practices Program, and increasing Medicaid Waiver funding
  • Implementing on-going Roundtable Discussion Meetings for Human Resource Directors and Chief Financial Officers
