FACILITY MEMBERSHIP BENEFITS

REGULATORY AND LEGISLATIVE OVERSIGHT
NJAHSA monitors and evaluates regulatory and legislative issues affecting our members, and develops and promotes initiatives related to our mission. We maintain relationships with state agency officials and representatives from health care and senior service organizations, and serve as an advocate for non-profit aging services in the state legislature.

CONTINUING EDUCATION
NJAHSA's educational programs are designed to meet the diverse needs of professionals in the field of aging. Yearly programs include our Annual Meeting and Exhibition, the Housing Institute, Facility Board Seminar, regulatory, legislative and legal updates, and specialized workshops designed to address industry trends and current issues of concern. Continuing Educational Units, including those for assisted living and nursing home administrators, are offered.

MEMBERSHIP MEETINGS
NJAHSA's membership meetings and roundtable discussion groups enable facility staff to interact and participate in discussions specific to the unique concerns of Assisted Living Facilities, CCRC's, Independent Housing, and Nursing Homes. Guest speakers are featured on a regular basis and continuing education credits are offered.

NATIONAL AFFILIATION
NJAHSA maintains an affiliation with the American Association of Homes and Services for the Aging (AAHSA), and as such, NJAHSA facility members become members of AAHSA as well. Members receive all benefits and services provided by AAHSA, including weekly communications, advocacy and representation on the national level, invitations to education seminars and conferences, and participation in the Quality First Initiative.

GROUP PURCHASING PROGRAMS AND SERVICES
NJAHSA members can enroll in the NJAHSA/AAHSA Group Purchasing Program at no cost and no obligation to buy. The Group Purchasing Program provides direct cost savings for bathing, housekeeping, food service, maintenance, furniture, medical, nursing, and therapy supplies and equipment, and for services such as health benefits, unemployment claims management, criminal background checks, continuous quality improvement, and more.

DOMESTIC PREPAREDNESS
NJAHSA's Domestic Preparedness Program provides state-of-the-art emergency preparedness training and up-to-date information to members about homeland security and community response issues. Members receive emergency preparedness and response plan templates, training on "sheltering in place" and emergency readiness, alerts about current events, and contacts for emergency supplies and recovery support.

MEMBER COMMUNICATIONS
News Source, Quick Takes, member alerts, and the NJAHSA website provide timely updates and articles written by staff, members, and industry experts on regulatory, legislative and operational activities, and unique programming issues related to senior housing, healthcare, and long-term care facilities. NJAHSA provides information to the public, press, government officials and regulatory agencies on issues of importance to the non-profit sector. NJAHSA also sponsors an annual Salary & Benefit Survey for its membership.

PEER NETWORKING
NJAHSA's Quality First Golf Classic, Annual Meeting, Holiday Reception, and State Night at the AAHSA Annual Meeting are among the many popular networking events.
